Taggstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 0; Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 10-14; Taggstrålar i analfenan 0; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 27 - 34; Ryggkotor: 43 - 45. Dark dorsum, flanks silver; black pigment on outer caudal rays (Ref. 3988). Two rows of photophores on the body (Ref. 37473). Pyloric caeca 7-8; photophores above anal fin 15-17 (Ref. 41740).
Benthopelagic off continental and island slopes and sea-mounts (Ref. 4778). Probably does not exhibit diel vertical migrations (Ref. 4778). Minimum depth reported from Ref. 4778.
