Vertebrae: 40 - 41. With 5 1/2 scales in a transverse series between the lateral line and the origin of the dorsal fin; with 5 scales between the lateral line and the origin of the anal fin; presence of three cusps on all jaw teeth; fourth blotch of dark pigmentation on the mid-lateral surface of the body is centered distinctly anterior of the vertical line through the origin of the adipose fin; relatively longer post-orbital portion of the head (0.40- 0.47 of HL); and lack of dark mid-lateral stripe; pored lateral-line scales from supracleithrum to end of lateral line 43 to 45; all scales of lateral line pored.
Adults feed on fresh leaves and grasses (Ref. 26543). Distinct pairs breed on densely grown weedy places (Ref. 205).
