Remark: | Saw a sizable specimen of Pterois antennata in the metal barge wreck just SW of Bongoyo Island near Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. At shallow depth (.5 m) he was pointing nose down and remained stationary. Later in the dive, we saw him further down in the wreck, about 2 m, oriented horizontally and (uncharacteristically) with his face looking out of the wreck toward us. We all got quite close to him and he was not shy or skittish. Position of sighting taken from Google Maps, I'm quite confident it's accurate within 50m or so. | ||||
