Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6; Anal spines: 2-4; Anal soft rays: 6 - 8. It differs from all other Paramphilius species in pigment pattern, it has striking dark marbel-patches, and in having a short notched adipose fin (Ref. 74418).
