Vertebrae: 25. This species differs from its congeners in having the following characters: D IX, 10; A III, 7; lateral line with tubed scales 50; gill rakers 12 + 25 = 37; relatively deep body, 32% of SL; first pelvic-fin ray slightly produced, not extending to anus; the pectoral fin reaching a vertical through base of last dorsal spine; depressed anal-fin length, 32% of SL; deeply forked caudal fin with both lobes produced into filaments (Ref. 75640).
Collected by gillnet at about 150 m (Ref. 75640).
