Oblong body, depth 2.7-3.0 times in SL; stout caudal peduncle, 1.2-1.6 times longer than deep; length of stiff part of last simple dorsal ray less than half of body depth at dorsal origin in large specimens; yellow and black pattern on caudal fin very contrasted (Ref. 43281).
