Diagnosis: elongate dwarf species, about 7-9 times as long as deep; occipital process scarcely developed and well separated from nuchal plates; humeral spine well visible; eyes very small, round and in dorsal position; dorsal-fin base comprised 3-4 times in standard length and longer than, or subequal to, adipose-fin base; fin-ray counts: dorsal 14-16 (branched), pectoral 6 (branched), anal 4-7 simple and 5-7 branched; number of gill rakers on first gill arch: 1 or 2/4 or 5; colour pattern marbled (Ref. 57126).
