Description: Characterized by dark brown or blackish to yellowish color, usually with mottled pattern; deeply incised membrane between third and fourth dorsal spine; origin of dorsal fin above rear edge of eye; prickles (modified scales) covering head and body; three spines on lacrimal; five blunt spines on rear margin of preopercle; depth of body 3.2 in SL (Ref. 90102).
