Definition of Term

intrinsic rate of increase
(english) The change in the amount of harvestable stock estimated by recruitment increases plus growth minus natural mortality. A value that quantifies how much a population can increase between successive time periods; plays an important role in evaluating the sustainability of different harvest levels and the capacity to recover after depletion.
