Short description

Dorsal soft rays (total): 52; Vertebrae: 59 - 60. This species is distinguished by the following characters: vertebrae 59-60 (10+49-50), D 52, P 22-26, C 12(1+5/6), pyl. c. 11; 2 pairs of weak pleural ribs; 3-4 round pectoral radials; pectoral-fin lower lobe is not longer than its upper lobe; body low, depth 4.6-4.9 times in SL; head 26-27% SL, snout wide; with postorbital pore and 1 suprabranchial pore; small eye, 16% lc; large nouth, angle of mouth below eye center; simple teeth; peanal length 36-40%, disk 6.3-6.6% SL; body pale and peritoneum black (Ref. 86261).
