Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal soft rays: 10 - 11; Vertebrae: 34 - 36. Presence of 4-5 serrations along posterior edge of pectoral spine; iii-iv,7-8 anal-fin rays (total 10-11), and a more deeply forked caudal fin with regularly tapering lobes. Differs further from other Indochinese congeners in possessing fewer vertebrae (34-36 vs. 38-41); a deeper body (depth at anus 15.2-16.9% SL vs. 9.8-15.1) and equal upper and lower jaws (vs. longer and weakly-projecting lower jaw) (Ref. 37785).
