Marine; benthopelagic; depth range 200 - 800 m (Ref. 47377). Subtropical, preferred ?; 41°N - 34°S, 98°W - 8°E (Ref. 1371)
Western Atlantic: widespread in tropical waters, including the Caribbean, east coast of America between 40°N and 30°S (Ref. 47377). Eastern Atlantic: apparently more restricted, from Cape Verde to about 11°S. Northwest Atlantic: Canada (Ref. 5951).
