Description of life cycle and mating behavior Oviparous, sexes are separate (Ref. 205). Migrates for spawning between the Shetland Islands and Norway and out of the Skagerrak. Major spawning grounds are Northwestern Scotland, Norway, Faeroe Islands and Iceland.
