Norris 1987 (Ref. 51753) synonymized Ctenopoma weeksii with C. oxyrhynchum. ICZN was asked to suppress the senior synonym in favor of C. oxyrhynchum. ICZN decided in Opinion 1562 to retain C. weeksii based on the principle of priority (Boden, pers. comm).
