Definition of Term

accession
(english) A sample collected at a specific location and time; may contain several specimens. More specific, the entry of a sample in a fish collection or gene bank, normally recorded with accession date and name of the donator, also documentation of a fish collection, containing one to many specimens and species, with date of receipt, ownership, donor, etc.. (french) Un échantillon rassemblé d’une localité spécifique et pendant une période donnée ; peut contenir plusieurs spécimens.
