 Family:  Batrachoididae (Toadfishes), subfamily: Thalassophryninae
 Max. size:  14.4 cm NG (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: southeastern Brazil to Argentina.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-18. Large dark colored species with four tan dorsal saddles under the second dorsal fin and with pale distal margins to the second dorsal, anal, pectoral, and caudal fins (Ref. 30721).
