 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: known only from Jolo Island, Sulu Archipelago, Philippines.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-8; Vertebrae: 26-26. Body with ctenoid scales posteriorly, usually extending up to behind pectoral fin in narrow wedge; predorsal scales small, cycloid, 11-27, all evenly sized and reaching forward past rear edge of preopercle; TRB 14-19; longitudinal scale count 44-56 (Ref. 43716). Caudal fin oval, rounded posteriorly (Ref. 43716).
 Biology:  Collected from land-locked, freshwater lakes close to the coast (Ref. 43716).
