 Family:  Synodontidae (Lizardfishes), subfamily: Synodontinae
 Max. size:  21 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 20 - 88 m
 Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: reported from Taiwan (Ref. 58391), Tonga (Ref. 53797) and from Hawaii, Easter Island, and Pitcairn (Ref. 38189).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found in sandy areas near reefs (Ref. 38189). Benthic (Ref. 58302).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
