Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 17-18. Belly with 4 to 7 small needle-like pre-pelvic scutes. Maxilla tip pointed, reaching to or beyond hind border of pre-operculum, the latter concave, indented near maxilla tip. Anal fin short, with origin below anterior part of dorsal fin base. |
A schooling species found in coastal waters. Not common in museum collections, so perhaps not very abundant. More specimens and data needed. |
