Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-17; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 19-22. Belly with 1 to 4 small needle-like pre-pelvic scutes. Maxilla tip pointed, reaching just to front border of pre-operculum; hind border of pre-operculum convex, rounded. Isthmus muscle tapering evenly forward to hind border of branchial membrane. Pelvic fin tip reaching to beyond dorsal fin origin. Silver stripe along flank not strongly demarcated. |
Presumed coastal, pelagic and schooling. Recorded only from bays and estuaries. The eggs are oval with a small knob. |
