 Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
 Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 10 - 60 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: southern Gulf of California to Peru.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found shallow warm water, over muddy bottom (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on planktonic crustaceans, also marine worms and other benthic invertebrates (Ref. 9118). Common in local markets (Ref. 9118).
