 Family:  Scorpaenidae (Scorpionfishes or rockfishes), subfamily: Scorpaeninae
 Max. size:  2.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-neritic
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Philippines.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Description: Characterized by having a pair of diagonal bands across anal fin and five dark transverse bands across ventral surface of head; ctenoid scales; presence of palatine teeth; absence of occipital pit; no coronal spines; three spines on suborbital ridge; three spines on lacrimal; presence of slender tentacle above eye; depth of body 2.4 in SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Known on basis of only two specimens collected with beach seine in shallow water at Cammahala Bay, Luzon, Philippines (Ref 90102).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
