 Max. size:  10 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic, oceanodromous
 Distribution:  Indian and Pacific: in tropical waters.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 26-29; Vertebrae: 48-49. No dermal pigment stripes on body; upper caudal lobe dusky; pigment lacking or weakly developed on ventral lobe (Ref. 6601).
 Biology:  Oceanic and mesopelagic.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
