 Family:  Ophichthidae (Snake eels), subfamily: Myrophinae
 Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 1 - 21 m
 Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Chagos Islands to the Hawaiian and Society islands. Eastern Pacific: Easter Island.
 Diagnosis:  Pectoral fins absent; TL to 20 cm.
 Biology:  A benthic species (Ref. 58302, 75154) which inhabits shallow lagoon reefs (Ref. 1602).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
