 Family:  Scorpaenidae (Scorpionfishes or rockfishes), subfamily: Scorpaeninae
 Max. size:  20.2 cm NG (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 5 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: known only from the holotype collected at Easter Island.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. 4th dorsal spine longest (Ref. 26890). Brownish orange-red, finely mottled with pale and blotched with dark brown, most conspicuous marking being two dark blotches on body above pectoral fin (Ref. 26890).
 Biology:  Known only from the holotype taken by hand from rocky bottom (Ref. 26890).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
