 Family:  Rajidae (Skates)
 Max. size:  83 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 35 - 300 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California and Costa Rica to Colombia and Peru.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Benthic on the continental shelf. Feed on crustaceans, polychaetes and fishes (Ref. 28023). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
