 Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: No subfamily
 Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: Indochina to Sumatra, Borneo and Malaya.
 Diagnosis:  Last simple anal ray non-serrated posteriorly (Ref. 43281); 30-38 gill rakers on outer side of first arch (Ref. 12693).
 Biology:  Found in large river habitats. Primarily herbivorous, feeding on aquatic macrophytes, inundated terrestrial vegetation and filamentous algae along with some insects (Ref. 12693).
