 Family:  Polynemidae (Threadfins)
 Max. size:  28 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Asia: Thailand and Indonesia. Replaced by Polynemus kapuasensis in the Kapuas River (Ref. 57343).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found in middle and lower sections of larger rivers (Ref. 9685) and in estuaries, over sandy or muddy bottoms. Feeds on crustaceans, small fishes, and benthic organisms (Ref. 57343). Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693). Esteemed food fish along the Chao Phraya River (Ref. 57343). Exported to Japan as an ornamental fish (Ref. 57343).
