 Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; depth range - 0 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic and Western Indian Ocean: False Bay to Pondoland, South Africa.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-23. Bluish dorsally, silvery ventrally (Ref. 5317).
 Biology:  Found shoaling offshore. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
