 Family:  Terapontidae (Grunters or tigerperches)
 Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Endemic to southern Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 7-7
 Biology:  An omnivore found in inshore areas (Ref. 7300). Eggs are guarded and fanned by the male parent (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
