 Family:  Loricariidae (Armored catfishes), subfamily: Neoplecostominae
 Max. size:  9.85 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal
 Distribution:  South America: rio Jequitinhonha and rio Sao Francisco in Brazil.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Presence of a crown of regularly long-bristle-like odontodes on the anterior and lateral snout margins; prominent cleithrum; very depressed body, its depth more than twice in pectoral girdle width (Ref. 32949).
 Biology:  Found in a rocky and sandy area. Nocturnal.
