 Family:  Liparidae (Snailfishes)
 Max. size:  21.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 220 - 1145 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Chile (Ref. 9068). Southern Ocean: South Orkney Island (Ref. 30823), South Shetland Islands, and Bransfield Strait.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 51-58; Anal soft rays: 44-56; Vertebrae: 57-63. Gill slit extending ventrally in front of pectoral rays 13-14; presence of a suture between upper and lower hypural and of a dorsal procurrent ray; brown spotted peritoneum (Ref. 36325).
 Biology:  Feeds on benthic and epibenthic invertebrates, mainly mysids, gammarid amphipods, and sipunculids.
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
