 Family:  Liparidae (Snailfishes)
 Max. size:  4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range - 2821 m,
 Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: known only from the types, collected in the Bounty Trough southeast of New Zealand.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 46-47; Anal soft rays: 41-44. This species is distinguished by the following characters: mouth distinctly oblique, not horizontal; dorsal fin rays 46-47; anal fin rays 41-44; caudal fin rays 10; pectoral fin rays 24; gill opening above pectoral fin and extending ventrally in front of about 9 rays; radials apparently 2 (1+0+0+1) (Ref. 92437).
