 Family:  Opistognathidae (Jawfishes)
 Max. size:  7.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 2 - 35 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indonesia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Description: Characterized by yellowish brown color; side of body with narrow reddish stripes corresponding with longitudinal scale rows on side of body; scattered dark brown, dashes and spots on head; oblique scale rows about 44-46; length of upper jaw 65-69% of head length, extending about 0.7-0.9 eye diameter behind rear margin of orbit; depth of body about 3.8-4.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Inhabits silt/rubble bottoms 2-35 m in area of freshwater discharge from submarine vents (Ref 90102).
