 Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails), subfamily: Macrourinae
 Max. size:  23 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic
 Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: off the Pacific coast of Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Bathypelagic species that probably feeds on pelagic invertebrates and fishes (Ref. 9315). Caught only with midwater nets, far from the bottom (Ref. 9315).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
