 Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudochrominae
 Max. size:  13 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 5 - 40 m, non-migratory
 Distribution:  Eastern Indo-West Pacific: Philippines and southeastern Indonesia to Australia (Ref. 90102).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 27-29; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 15-16. Description: Characterized by yellowish brown color; narrow bluish stripes on side of body; dorsal and anal fins with pale spotting; snout yellowish; blackish bar through eye; caudal fin yellowish; juvenile similar, yellow overall body; anterior lateral line scales 23-32; depth of body 28.8-34.5 % of SL (Ref. 90102).
 Biology:  Found in lagoon and seaward reefs. Prefers drop-offs, usually close to corals and sponges. Usually solitary, occasionally in pairs.
