 Family:  Zoarcidae (Eelpouts), subfamily: Lycodinae
 Max. size:  79 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 3,300.0 g; max. reported age: 13 years
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 20 - 830 m
 Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Sea of Okhotsk to Kamchatka.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 96-100; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 81-87; Vertebrae: 101-109. Wide, blackish-brown blotches, about 10 in number on body; a narrow white band connecting upper ends of gill openings; ventral surface of head including lips, lower 1/2 of pectoral fin, and ventral 1/2 of body light (Ref.559). Lateral line ventral (Ref. 559).
