 Family:  Citharidae (Citharids), subfamily: Brachypleurinae
 Max. size:  36 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 310 - 428 m
 Distribution:  Western Pacific: Japan to the Kei Islands, Arafura Sea (Indonesia).
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 65-70; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 45-48; Vertebrae: 30-30. Eyes on right side of body and very large, covered with scales on surface. Body uniformly greyish-brown, without distinct markings. Caudal fin rounded (Ref. 559).
 Biology:  Rare species found on mud bottoms (Ref. 9797). Feeds on benthic animals (Ref. 9797).
