 Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; depth range 50 - 485 m
 Distribution:  Circumglobal in the southern hemisphere between 34°S and the Antarctic Polar Front.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 55-56; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 36-40
 Biology:  Feeds on krill, squid and fishes.
