 Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
 Max. size:  12.9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 0 - 50 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found over seagrass and algal beds. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205). Males may be brooding at 8.65 cm SL.
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
