 Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Known only from the holotype collected from Massawa, Ethiopia, Red Sea.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-22; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 20-20; Vertebrae: 25-25. Preopercular serrae 56.
