 Max. size:  46 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range 1 - 15 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Hong Kong to Japan (Ref. 36349); range extended to Midway Atoll, Hawaii (Ref, 48237).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Inhabits shallow rocky reefs (Ref. 36349). Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
