 Family:  Muraenesocidae (Pike congers)
 Max. size:  75.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 600 - 750 m
 Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: off Taiwan and Okinawa, Japan.
 Diagnosis:  Color is bright brown, the upper part of the head and back are darker than the belly. The peritoneum, gill and mouth cavities are dark, visible through the skin. The stomach is long, extends slightly behind the anus; 2.5 times the length of the head (Ref. 44791).
