 Family:  Stomiidae (Barbeled dragonfishes), subfamily: Melanostomiinae
 Max. size:  9 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; depth range 0 - 200 m
 Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: known only from the Molucca Sea.
 Diagnosis:  Barbel with three simple whiplike branches arising together from stem and extending beyond tip of terminal bulb; external pigment on stem extending onto dorsal side of terminal bulb; distal margin of pigment smooth; terminal bulb length more than two times its thickness; bulb bearing a simple terminal filament (Ref. 45801).
