 Family:  Etmopteridae (Lantern sharks)
 Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed); 24 cm TL (female)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 300 - 1000 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Guinea to Côte d'Ivoire; Nigeria to Angola.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found on the upper continental slopes. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). Utilized dried salted for human consumption and for fishmeal.
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
