 Family:  Chaenopsidae (Pike-, tube- and flagblennies)
 Max. size:  2.65 cm SL (female)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 10 - 30 m
 Distribution:  Southwest Atlantic: Brazil.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 18-20; Dorsal soft rays (total): 32-35; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 20-22. 3 obvious pelvic fin rays and lacking a flag like flap on the dorsal fin. First dorsal fin spine of males elongate, almost always twice as long as second spine. Palatine teeth 12-15, usually 14. Subdivided supraorbital cirrus in males (Ref. 47837).
 Biology:  Found over rubble and sand bottoms (Ref. 47837).
