 Family:  Sparidae (Porgies)
 Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  benthopelagic; depth range - 30 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Central Atlantic: endemic to Cape Verde.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-13
 Biology:  Inhabits rocky bottoms interspersed with sand in near-shore waters to about 30 m depth or slightly more. Feeds on seaweeds and benthic invertebrates (Ref. 3688).
