 Family:  Centrophoridae (Gulper sharks)
 Max. size:  84 cm TL (male/unsexed); 109 cm TL (female)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 600 - 1000 m
 Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: Madeira. Northwest Pacific: Japan.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found on the insular slopes. No record of food items. Ovoviviparous, size of litter not known but a female with 12 large eggs suggests moderate-sized litters.
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
