 Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails), subfamily: Macrourinae
 Max. size:  40 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathypelagic; depth range 225 - 530 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: known only from type specimens taken from the Nazca Ridge.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Feeds on pelagic food items including shrimps (Gennadas, Sergestes, Plesionika), the mysid Paralophogaster glaber, the copepod Pleuromamma, squid, and fish (Chauliodus sp., Lampanyctus sp., and Myctophidae gen., sp. (Ref. 9949).
