 Family:  Channichthyidae (Crocodile icefishes)
 Max. size:  60 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range 500 - 2000 m
 Distribution:  Southern Ocean: probably circum-Antarctic on the continental shelf and slope.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Found on the continental shelf and slope. Adults feed mainly on krill and fish (Ref. 5200).
 IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
